PPE FOR PEOPLE WHO SAVE LIVES

Emergency responder teams work in varied and complex environments that exponentially expose them to the risk of on-the-job death and injury. The average number of on-duty deaths to occur annually has dropped over the past 30 years, which can be partially attributed to the advancements and improvements in personal protective equipment and their standards. Plus, the type of calls that firefighters typically face has changed drastically, with a huge increase in the need for medical aid. Emergency responders must be prepared for anything and PIP is proud to offer the innovative and dependable products they need to stay safe on the job.

SAFETY IN A FLASH

Be seen. Be safe.

Eflare™ beacons are intensely bright, and can be seen for up to 1/2 of a mile and features full 360˚ illumination. Angle and beam projection minimizes the risk of target fixation, as well as distance judgment problems associated with strobe and incandescent lights. They weigh less than 11 ounces with four AA batteries installed. Improved activation enables a simple twist of the lens to the desired function. Unlike pyrotechnic flares, there is no risk of fire or explosion, and no toxic fumes or residues. They can survive up to a 3-foot drop onto a concrete surface, and are also dust-proof and water resistant (up to a depth of 100 ft.). Body molded clips with added holes easily attach to belts and clothing. Base accessories are available for heavy-duty mounted applications.

Flame Resistant Hoods

FLAME RESISTANT HOODS

100% NOMEX® - Carbonizes and thickens when exposed to the intense heat of today's fires, increasing the protective barrier between the heat source and the skin. It stays supple and flexible until it cools, which gives valuable extra seconds of protection.

20% NOMEX®/80% LENZIG® FR - Made of a natural raw material with a flame resistant substance incorporated throughout the cross-section of the fiber to ensure inherent flame protection.

84% CARBON/16% TECHNORA® - Carbon fiber is lightweight and provides excellent fire resistance. Technora® is a very strong para-aramid fiber that is 8 times stronger than steel. It shows little loss of strength even during repeated abrasion or stretching, and is highly resistant to acids, alkalis and organic solvents.

VITAL COOLING

COOL CORE TEMPERATURES

Heat stress is a major occupational hazard for firefighters. During a fire scene, core body temperature will quickly rise. A higher core temperature means that it will be more difficult for the body to cool down, especially on hot days. Once a firefighter is out of a dangerous area, a cooling vest is a safe and effective way to help return the core temperature to its normal state. PIP's Heat Stress line offers vests, towels and other cooling products that can be quickly activated to provide up to hours of vital relief.

ADDITIONAL PROTECTION FOR EMS WORKERS

ADDITIONAL PROTECTION FOR EMS WORKERS

Gloves are a necessary barrier at a scene of an injury to protect an EMS worker. Ambi-Thix® Medical grade gloves are an extra-thick 13 mil and extended 11" long for maximum coverage and protection.

Studies show that head protection should be more of a necessity as well, as head injuries are a leading cause of death and injury in the field. Workers can hit their head while pulling a victim out of a car crash, and NIOSH crash tests also revealed the possibility of head injury if a worker's head strikes the cabinets immediately above or behind them while riding in an ambulance unrestrained. Pacific offers paramedic and rescue styles that offer lightweight and non-intrusive protection.
